The startup competition is BEM's main tool in discovering young talents. Our mission is to support people who change the world on the way to their dreams. To give publicity to their projects and ideas.

Startup companies get the opportunity to share their ideas and achievements with the public. Honorees receive public recognition and motivation for new heights. They are an inspiration to those who are just starting out on the path of entrepreneurship.

Media contests are one of the most effective branding and marketing tools.

Place in the forehead will help your startup stand out in the competitive environment, send a positive message to your existing customers, attract new opportunities for business and investment.

Application conditions

As a participant in the contest, you will receive:

All companies registered in Bulgaria or registered by Bulgarian citizens abroad no more than 36 months before the date of the competition can apply for the BEM awards, regardless of sector and ownership. Commercial representations of foreign companies, as well as foundations and other organizations that are not registered under the Commercial Law, cannot apply. As companies with more than 36 months of history cannot apply.

Promotion in the fastest growing media brand for entrepreneurs in Bulgaria.
Short presentation with text and logo of the company in the June issue of BEM magazine together with the other applicants.
A certificate from BEM distinguishing the company as a finalist in a category, in case you are among the finalists.
A figurine from BEM distinguishing the company as a category winner, if you are among the winners, and branding material for your project in the magazine.

Методология

Application to the competition for each of the sector categories is done online only from January 20, 2021 to June 1, 2021 through the BEM.BG website.
When applying, startup companies answer questions.
The evaluation is carried out by a jury, which includes successful entrepreneurs and investors from various spheres of the economy.
The jury receives all the information that allows it to check the correctness of the ranking.
The BEM team sums up the points collected by all jury members and arranges the final ranking in each sector category.
An award goes to the company that takes first place in each sector category. Additionally, finalists in the top 3 are broadcast.

All companies registered in Bulgaria or by a Bulgarian abroad no more than 36 months before the time of the competition can apply for the BEM awards, regardless of their size, sector and ownership. Commercial representations of foreign companies, as well as foundations and other organizations that are not registered under the Commercial Law, cannot apply. As well as those with more than 36 months of history.

Companies applying for the awards answer several specific questions.

The answers are evaluated by an independent jury composed of successful business leaders from various sectors of the economy. Each member of the jury independently evaluates the applications and sends their evaluations to the BEM editorial team, which summarizes the information received by the jury and, on this basis, ranks the applications in each category and announces the finalists.

In the event of a conflict of interest, the jury members do not assign marks to the respective application, and the missing position is filled with the average mark of the other jury members for that application.

In the event that there are not enough candidates in a given category, the BEM editors reserve the right not to broadcast a winner in that category for the respective year or, at the discretion of the jury, to award it to the candidate.
